AI job screening disclosure

Last updated: 10 August 2026 ยท Sprint 0 legal notice

1. What this covers

When you apply to a company job on Akalan (careers page, open apply link, or the global job board), the hiring company may use Akalan to transcribe answers, score resumes against the job description, and run an AI voice interview.

Your application may be screened and ranked by AI against this job description. A human at the hiring company reviews scores and makes every advance or reject decision. You can ask that company to review your application if something looks wrong.

2. Human-in-the-loop

Akalan does not auto-reject or auto-hire candidates on the job screening path. Scores and rankings are decision-support for the hiring company. A human recruiter or hiring manager makes every advance or reject decision.

3. What we process

  • Name, email, and optional resume file you submit (or from your Akalan profile on one-click apply)
  • Interview audio, transcripts, AI feedback, and integrity signals when the company enables them
  • Consent records (purpose, disclosure version, timestamp, IP / user-agent when available)

4. Your choices

  • You must actively consent before an open application is accepted.
  • You can ask the hiring company to review your application if something looks wrong.
  • You can withdraw AI_JOB_SCREENING consent from your privacy controls where available, and request export or erasure under our Privacy Policy.

5. Bias & fairness posture

Models can be imperfect. Companies should treat AI scores as one input among others (portfolio, referrals, structured interviews). Akalan keeps a versioned disclosure on every consent record so audits can see what candidates agreed to.
